Ingredients


•¼ cup vegetable oil



•1 small onion, chopped



•1 teaspoon garlic, minced



•1 teaspoon ginger, minced



•1 teaspoon ground cumin



•1 teaspoon ground coriander



•1 teaspoon garam masala



•1 teaspoon ground turmeric



•½ teaspoon cayenne pepper



•1 teaspoon paprika



•1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes, drained



•1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce



•1 cup plain yogurt



•2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch cubes



•1 cup heavy cream



•Salt, to taste



•1 tablespoon chopped cilantro, for garnish


Chicken Tikka Masala recipe



Instructions


1. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion, garlic, and ginger and cook, stirring frequently, until the onion is soft and lightly browned, about 5 minutes.


2. Add the cumin, coriander, garam masala, turmeric, cayenne, and paprika and cook, stirring constantly, until fragrant, about 1 minute.


3. Add the tomatoes, tomato sauce, and yogurt and stir to combine. Reduce the heat to low and simmer until the sauce has thickened, about 10 minutes.


4. Add the chicken and stir to combine. Cover and cook until the chicken is cooked through, about 10 minutes.


5. Add the cream, stir to combine, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.


6. Season with salt, to taste.


7. Garnish with cilantro and serve.
